Where are the Best Fireworks in The United States?

It’s the biggest summer holiday in America. It’s Independence Day.  The Fourth of July.  In celebration of the beginning of a new nation, Americans from coast to coast celebrate with cookouts, beach parties, music and fireworks.  Lots of fireworks.  Cities large and small all across the country put on their best fireworks displays to the adoration of Americans everywhere.  It is a day when patriotism reigns.  At Private Jets Charter our bookings begin to jump around the holiday.  We’ve found some of the biggest parties in the country which feature not only fireworks, but everything from concerts, air shows and parades to food festivals, public art creation and educational presentations.

Boston
Boston celebrates the 4th with a multi day festival led off by Boston Harborfest, featuring sailing displays of historical Tall Ships. Then begins the 39thannual world famous Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular.  The two day celebration culminates with an open air concert by the Boston Pops capped off with the nation’s most famous fireworks display over Boston Harbor.  This celebration did for Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture what football did for Queen’s “We Will Rock You.”  A national TV audience of over seven million is expected to tune in and over 500,000 will be there in the flesh.  There’s nothing like a Fourth of July spent in Boston.  Boston takes this holiday seriously and makes it a memorable event for everyone.

Philadelphia
As the home of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, of course Philadelphia pulls out all the stops for America’s annual Fourth of July celebration.  A ten day festival features movies, public mural painting, exhibitions, all you can eat ice cream, a Sunday morning gospel sing along and readings from the Declaration of Independence on the steps of Independence Hall.  The three day Taste of Philadelphia festival runs concurrently with open air restaurants serving their finest fare, a great opportunity to find the elusive best Philly Cheesesteak.  The Fourth culminates with an all day concert featuring top headliners and a spectacular fireworks display over the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  The City of Brotherly Love definitely knows how to throw a party.

Washington D.C.
There’s no better place to celebrate the Fourth than in Washington.  An all day event begins with the National Independence Day Parade with floats, military units and marching bands representing all 50 states.  The National Archives has a full event schedule as does the White House Visitor’s Center.  An open air concert on the grounds of the Washington Monument is kicked off with the U.S. Air Force Band and nationally known headliners, and is followed by a performance by the National Symphony on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol.  The evening grand finale is the fireworks display launched from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool which light up the sky over the Washington Monument.  This is the celebration to experience.
