Jet Airways slips to loss in 4QFY2011 on intense competition and higher fuel costs

Intense competition, lower passenger load factors and higher jet fuel costs resulted in Jet Airways reporting lower-than-expected revenues and margins in the three months to Mar-2011 (4QFY2011). It was these exceptional items that pushed the carrier into a loss in what should have been a profitable quarter, with heavy discounting activity by Air India having a notable impact on Jet Airways and domestic yields overall.
