Airport traffic ‘well beyond’ pre-crisis volumes as recovery surprises

ACI World stated traffic results in 2010 were “positive” with global passenger traffic increasing by a “strong” 6% year-on-year, slightly below its forecast growth of “nearly 7%” but still “well beyond” pre-crisis volumes. International passenger traffic rose by 7% while domestic traffic increased by 5% for the year with ACI Director of Economics Andreas Schimm commenting that "2010 was a banner year for air traffic generating a much quicker recovery than expected”.
