Stinson Airport called ‘economic engine’

Vintage Stinson Municipal Airport (SSF) in San Antonio, Texas, is being credited with contributing to the area’s economic rebirth.

In a story at MySanAntonio.com, the airport is named as one of the “economic engines” that will bring a renaissance to the city’s south side.

The airport recently completed a $4.8 million expansion, including lengthening the runway to 5,000 feet.

The story quotes State Sen. Jeff Wentworth as saying:

“You cannot overestimate the value and critical importance that Texas A&M University-San Antonio in conjunction with the Toyota plant and Stinson Airport bring to the South Side as economic generators.”
